SMS/Text Messaging Terms & Conditions

Effective date: [January 1. 2026 ]

These Text Messaging Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply when you provide your express consent to receive text (SMS) messages from StatCare Pulmonary at the mobile number you provide to us. By opting in, you agree to these Terms. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving treatment or any other service from StatCare Pulmonary.

Messages you may receive

Once you opt in, StatCare Pulmonary may send you text messages related to your care and account, including:

  • Appointment reminders and confirmations
  • Scheduling, rescheduling, and check-in information
  • Treatment and test-result notifications
  • Billing and payment reminders

Messages may be sent using automated technology. You do not need to opt in to these texts to receive care from us.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on your appointments, results, and account activity.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier. StatCare Pulmonary does not charge you for text messages, but your wireless carrier’s standard rates and fees still apply. Please contact your wireless provider for details about your plan.

How to stop messages (opt out)

To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any message from us at any time. After you reply STOP, we will send one final message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed, and you will not receive further texts unless you opt in again. You may also opt out by contacting our office directly (see “Contact us” below). If you want to start receiving messages again, simply opt in the same way you did originally.

How to get help

For help with the text messaging program, reply HELP to any message from us, or call our office at 865-588-8831.

Supported carriers and message delivery

Text messaging may not be available on all wireless carriers, and message delivery is not guaranteed. Messages may be delayed or may fail to deliver for reasons outside our control, including your device being out of range, network outages, weather, terrain, or carrier issues. StatCare Pulmonary and the wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, or for any loss arising from the delivery, non-delivery, or content of a text message. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Keeping your mobile number current

You are responsible for providing an accurate mobile number and for notifying us promptly if your number changes or is reassigned, so that messages are not sent to the wrong person.

Privacy and security

Text messages from us may include protected health information (PHI). Standard text messaging is not encrypted, which means there is a risk that information in a message could be intercepted or viewed by others, including anyone with access to your device. By choosing to receive text messages, you accept this risk and consent to receiving unsecured messages at the number you provide. We recommend securing your device with a passcode.

Our handling of your health information is described in our Privacy Policy / Notice of Privacy Practices. Information collected as part of your SMS opt-in and consent will not be sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Eligibility

To enroll, you must be at least 18 years old (or an authorized parent, guardian, or representative), reside in the United States, and be the account holder for, or authorized user of, the mobile number you provide.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the revised Terms on this page, and the “Effective date” above will be updated accordingly. Your continued participation in the text messaging program after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
